Position Summary

Supporting the research programs of basic science faculty within the SHS is the primarily responsibility. This includes designing and carrying out experiments, developing new techniques, teaching techniques to students and faculty, analyzing data, and contributing to grant applications and manuscripts. Providing management and oversight of the basic science research labs will be required. Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students will be required.

Minimum Position Qualifications

A minimum of an earned Master’s degree (PhD degree preferred) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology or a related area of study is required. A minimum of three years of laboratory experience is required, with specific training using molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, transfections, RNAi). Experience designing and performing studies using both cell culture and animal models is required. Qualified applicants should have a publication record documenting their involvement in basic science research. The successful candidate will be able to teach various laboratory techniques to undergraduate and graduate students. Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. Candidate must meet eligibility requirements to begin and continue working in the United States at the time of appointment.
