Position Summary

The Department of Management in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for an Instructor position for the 2018-2019 academic year, beginning August 20, 2018. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment. Hiring is contingent on final budget approval. The instructor will teach primarily at the main University of Memphis campus although teaching at off-campus sites may be required.

Job responsibilities include effectively delivering instruction in a variety of undergraduate management courses; evaluating student learning; participating in related department activities; advising students; and complying with all Department, College, and University regulations. Instructors normally teach four, 3-credit courses per semester. For this position, the instructor will be responsible for teaching on-ground and/or on-line sections of undergraduate courses such as Compensation and Performance Appraisal, Employee Relations, Organization & Management, and Strategic Management.

Minimum Position Qualifications

A Ph.D. in management or closely–related discipline from an AACSB-accredited school of business is strongly desired (ABDs will be considered). The minimum education requirement is an appropriate master’s degree. College teaching experience is required, and on-line teaching experience is desired. Relevant academic training and/or significant related experience under existing AACSB business accreditation guidelines are required.
