Bachelor’s degree in relevant area two years of appropriate experience. Relevant experience may substitute for required education.

*Data Research and analytical experience.
*Must have excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and a professional telephone manner.
*Experience with Microsoft Office, Ellucian Banner, ResearchPoint, Lexis Nexus, Advizor Solutions, Evertrue, SQL, and Iwave is preferred.
*Have the ability to interact with Development Staff and other University Staff to establish good working relationships or individually or in a team environment.

These skills should have been acquired through previous work experience and/or formal training/education.

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Development Research and Analytics, the Development Research Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the administrative and/or operational function of development focused research and relationship management activities. The coordinator supports the operations for prospect management in the development database; creates and processes development related reports; conducts development related research; examines and analyzes data to support development related activities and strategies; and serves as liaison to major gift officers. The coordinator participates in special projects throughout the year as determined by the Sr. Manager of Development Research and Analytics. The coordinator oversees accurate and useful constituent data with an emphasis on constituent research and management.

Prepare reports for development officers and leadership on prospect and proposal stage movement and timelines.

With guidance and direction from the Sr. Manager of Development Research and Analytics, assist in portfolio development in conjunction with the fundraising staff’s goals.

Update Prospect Management System, and assign gift and solicitation credit to appropriate development officers. Cross check prospect lists and solicitation plans to match database and external vendor tracking system information.

Assist the Sr. Manager of Development Research and Analytics in developing and maintaining written policies and procedures for the Development Research program. Review user compliance of policies and procedures and address issues. Provide clarification and/or further explanation to development staff on prospect management-related policies and procedures, as necessary.

Ensure the data integrity of the Prospect Management System by monitoring the day-to-day input and workflow. Oversee audits of the data; facilitate cleanup as needed.

Support operation as they relate to the Prospect Management System (e.g., coding of contact reports, tracking donor contact and communications, archiving relationship information).

Counsel development staff on Prospect Management questions, challenges and issues; make decisions based on objective and informed interpretation of the Prospect Management policies and procedures.

Review and edit contact reports entered by development staff. Determine appropriate follow-up to relevant development staff based on contact report entry behavior, as needed.
