Minimum Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required plus significant (10+ years) financial leadership experience in institutions of higher education, and/or experience in the corporate world in a business of relevant scale and complexity.

Duties & Responsibilities

Works directly with the President, Provost and Vice Presidents of all divisions in executing the University’s strategic plan, budget, and directives of the Board of Trustees, and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

Directs the organization’s fiscal functions. Evaluates and advises on the impact of short and long range planning and the introduction and/or enhancement of programs and strategies by providing financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization. Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports that will assist the President, the Board and other executives in managing their areas of responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the leadership and management of the overall functions within the Division of Business & Finance. Plans, develops and oversees the implementation of innovative and proactive programs and services, which respond to the changing needs, and requirements of the University’s financial, business services, and human resources functions. Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance in all areas within the Division and aligns policies and procedures with the University’s objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluates the Division’s structure for continual improvement of efficiencies and effectiveness including reengineering and automating legacy processes to improve customer service to students, faculty and staff as well as promoting individual professional and personal growth for division employees.
