Position Summary

The University of Memphis, Department of Civil Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral research position in transportation. A successful candidate will work with Michail Gkolias, Ph.D. to carry out a one-year research project (with a second optional year possible) in the area of game theory applications (Pareto, Hierarchical, and Nash Equilibriums) on transportation networks to discover vulnerabilities from manmade or natural disasters/threats. The salary is extremely competitive and includes full benefits (health insurance, retirement plan, etc.).

Minimum Position Qualifications

Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or have successfully defended their dissertation prior to start date) with a background in transportation and/or operations research. It is desirable (but not necessary) that candidates have a publication record on multi-objective and hierarchical (e.g. bi-level) optimization. Knowledge of C, C++, Matlab, Python or other programing languages is desired. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research under minimal supervision, disseminate research results through peer reviewed journals and conferences, and mentor graduate and undergraduate research assistants.
